Specializing in high-risk pregnancies, I limit the number of clients I work with each year to ensure an exceptional level of care and attention for each family. I am available 24/7 to address questions, provide guidance, and support expectant mothers and their babies throughout the entire birthing journey.​

Denise provides two in person prenatal visits covering:

Education and Preparation

•    Provide comprehensive information on labor and delivery procedures.
•    Teach relaxation and breathing techniques.
•    Discuss the birth process, including potential complications and how to navigate them.
•    Offer resources to support informed decision-making about childbirth.

Birth Plan Development
•    Collaborate on creating a personalized birth plan that reflects individual preferences and goals.
•    Address birth preferences while incorporating considerations for various scenarios.

Emotional Support
•    Offer empathetic guidance to address anxieties, fears, and concerns about childbirth.
•    Foster a safe, supportive, and reassuring environment throughout the pregnancy and birth.

Practical Assistance
•    Provide guidance on recognizing the early signs of labor.
•    Discuss timing and logistics for transitioning to the hospital or birthing location.
•    Assist in preparing a comfortable and calming environment for labor.

Communication and Advocacy
•    Facilitate communication among all support team members regarding labor expectations.
•    Support effective communication with medical professionals to ensure clarity and understanding.

Customized Support
•    Tailor all discussions and services to meet the unique needs and preferences of each family.
•    Provide responsive, ongoing support and answer questions between visits.

Prenatal Services

Available by phone or text from the moment you hire me and my on call widow is from 38 weeks until delivery or if in the event of extenuating circumstances (preterm labor, twins, or other high risk event)  from 30 weeks until delivery.

 

Physical Support

  • Assist with positioning and movement to promote comfort and labor progression.

  • Utilize massage and techniques to encourage relaxation.

  • Guide breathing and relaxation strategies to ease tension.

  • Support adequate nutrition and hydration to maintain energy levels.

 

Emotional Support

  • Offer continuous presence and reassurance throughout labor.

  • Provide words of encouragement and comfort to instill confidence.

  • Foster a calm, safe, positive, and supportive birthing environment.

 

Informational Support

  • Clearly explain labor processes and medical procedures in an approachable manner.

  • Facilitate effective communication of the mother’s preferences with the medical team.

  • Help navigate options and assist in making informed decisions.

 

Advocacy

  • Advocate for the mother’s wishes and uphold her birth plan.

  • Collaborate effectively with the medical team to ensure alignment and understanding.

 

Partner Support

  • Involve and guide partners or other support persons in assisting the mother.

  • Provide breaks and emotional support to partners as needed.

Postpartum Follow Up Meeting

One postnatal meeting is provided which covers thefollowing:

Emotional Support

  • Provide a safe and supportive space for mothers to process and share their birth experiences.

  • Offer reassurance, companionship, and encouragement to alleviate anxiety and foster confidence.

  • Support partners by guiding them in caring for the mother and baby.

 

Physical Support

  • Assist with the mother’s physical recovery, including guidance on self-care and healing.

  • Provide breastfeeding support and help address common nursing challenges.

  • Offer hands-on newborn care, including diapering, bathing, and soothing techniques.

 

Education and Information

  • Share resources on postpartum recovery and adjustment, as well as infant care.

  • Provide guidance on infant feeding, including breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, and supplemental options.

  • Educate parents about newborn behavior, sleep patterns, and developmental milestones.
